Terms
Terms for a planning request
A request is not a booking. Dates are held when you accept a written proposal.
A request, then a proposal
A form or a WhatsApp message asks Soeling to consider a private journey. The proposal names the route, the guide and driver, the lodges, what is included, and the government Sustainable Development Fee for your party.
Soeling does not publish a standing price on the sample routes. A written proposal confirms the figure for a party. The advisors page states a from-price for travel advisors.
The government fee
The Sustainable Development Fee is charged at the rate set by the Royal Government. For US dollar paying visitors, until 31 August 2027, that rate is USD 100 per person per night. Children who have not yet turned six pay no fee. Children aged 6 who have not yet turned 12 receive a 50 percent concession. If the official rate changes, the proposal is revised before you travel. The Department of Immigration FAQ is the source, and the longer note is the Bhutan Sustainable Development Fee page.
Deposit and cancellation
A deposit of 30% confirms the journey. The balance is due 60 days before arrival. If you cancel 60 or more days before arrival, only the deposit is lost. From 30 to 59 days before arrival, 50% of the amount in the written proposal is due. Under 30 days before arrival, 100% of that amount is due. Refunds of the Bhutan visa and the Sustainable Development Fee follow Department of Tourism rules.
