I write the day around the drive, the altitude, and the meal. One hour stays empty. These are decisions, not a list of stops.
- 01
The brief comes before the route
Dates, the party, and any fixed appointment are written down before a valley is promised.
- 02
Permits are settled before you fly
The visa, the Sustainable Development Fee, and the permits for the route are handled before arrival. The current official rules are checked for the passports in the party.
- 03
A driving day stays a driving day
The road over Dochula is enough for one day. The walk, if there is one, sits on a different day.
- 04
One block in the day stays empty
I leave an open hour, so a delay at a pass, or a long lunch, does not push you into a night drive.
- 05
Your office can write for you
I can correspond with an assistant or a family office, and come to you only for the decisions you want to make.
- 06
Changes stay with Motithang
When the weather shifts, or the party is tired, the guide, the driver, and the lodge are changed from the office.

A day in Punakha
Written as I would send it
- Morning
- Punakha Dzong, before the valley fills
- Midday
- Lunch, then nothing scheduled
- Afternoon
- The rice fields, or the lodge
- Evening
- You are back before the light goes
